You applied for an FPSC post, paid the fee, and now you are refreshing the website every morning asking one question: “Mera roll number slip kab aayega?” I have seen thousands of candidates go through the same stress, and most of the problems are not about the test itself. They are about not knowing where to look, which slip belongs to which test, and what to do when the slip is not showing.
So let me explain the whole thing the way I would to a friend sitting next to me, step by step, with no confusing language.

What Is the FPSC Roll Number Slip?
The roll number slip is your entry ticket to the test. FPSC officially calls it an Admission Certificate, but everyone says roll number slip, and both mean the same thing. It normally shows your roll number, name, post and case number, test centre, date and reporting time, and instructions for the exam day.
No slip, no entry. Even if you are the most prepared candidate in the room, the gate staff will not let you in without it.
How to Download FPSC Roll Number Slip 2026 by CNIC
Here is the process in plain steps:
- Open the official FPSC website: www.fpsc.gov.pk.
- Go to the General Recruitment (GR) section and look for Admission Certificates.
- Select your test or case. FPSC runs many recruitment cases at the same time, so pick the one you applied for.
- Enter your CNIC number exactly as it is written on your card.
- Download the PDF and print it clearly.
- Check every detail before you close the page.
Keep two or three printed copies. Papers get lost, and a photocopy shop near the test centre may not be open.
Which Slip Is Which? Screening Test, Written Test and CSS MPT
This is where many candidates get confused, so read this part carefully.
| Test Stage | Slip Needed |
|---|---|
| Screening test for a GR post | Admission certificate for that case |
| Written test for a GR post | A separate admission certificate if the commission announces one |
| CSS MPT (preliminary screening) | Its own separate slip |
| CSS main written exam | Another slip issued later for those who qualify |
Do not assume one slip covers every stage. For CSS 2026, the MPT roll number slips were uploaded on 29 October 2025 on the FPSC website, and the main written exam needed the next stage of the process. If you want to see what happens after the CSS written exam, you can check the Competitive Examination (CSS) section on the official site, where the commission publishes its notices.
When Will the Roll Number Slip Be Uploaded?
FPSC does not upload every slip on a fixed date. It usually releases slips in phases, case by case, a little before the test. Because of that, you should not trust random websites that say “slip will come tomorrow”. The real source is the FPSC portal.
As of 8 October 2026, the FPSC homepage was showing public notices about interview postponements for Islamabad and Gilgit and the written result of the CSS Competitive Examination 2026. I could not find a confirmed new roll number slip date for a specific GR case, so if your test is coming soon, keep checking the Latest Updates section and your registered mobile number for messages.
What If Your Roll Number Slip Is Not Showing?
Do not panic. Try these in order:
- Double check the CNIC. One wrong digit is the most common reason.
- Make sure you selected the correct case or post.
- Try another browser or clear your cache. Government sites can be slow in the evening.
- Check that your application was actually completed and the fee was accepted.
- Wait a few hours and try again. Slips are often uploaded in batches.
- If your slip is still missing close to the test date, contact the commission directly through the contact details on fpsc.gov.pk.
What to Carry on Test Day
| Item | Why |
|---|---|
| Printed roll number slip | Mandatory for entry |
| Original CNIC | Identity check |
| Black or blue pen | For marking answers |
| Water and a light snack | If allowed at the venue |
Reach the centre at least 30 minutes early. Keep your mobile phone switched off or leave it at home, because electronic devices are normally not allowed inside the exam hall.

Final Thoughts
The FPSC roll number slip is simple once you know the process: go to the official site, enter your CNIC, pick the right case, download, print and check the details. The only real mistakes happen when candidates wait until the night before, use the wrong CNIC, or trust unofficial websites.
